ArchiCAD 15 export plugin
Submitted by dinnye on 2011, August 31 - 19:53Dear All,
First of all, I have to tell you, I can't support AC4D and AC4D+ anymore. The reason is, I get a mail from Maxon to do not support these formats and I have to agree they request, because I do not want to generate conflict with them. I'm on it to create a new plug-in, which supports ArchiCAD15, but I'm not ready yet, I do not want to simply port the old one to the new AC.
Because many of you asked me what about the ArchiCAD15 plug-in, when I will be ready with it, I decided to prepare the simple ported version (based on the old plug-in) to use it on ArchiCAD15, because the new version needs a lot of development time yet.
I'm working hard on the new plug-in. I hope, I will be ready with it within the next one-two months. I have a lot of idea, what I can implement into the new plug-in, BUT I would be happy to get idea from you as well.

The import plugin is updated, and a new utility is finished.
Submitted by dinnye on 2010, June 4 - 00:50See the main changes in the importer below.
- The 'material tag' can be choosen to be created on either the Null Object or on the Polygon.
- In 'Update' mode the full hierarchy can be sorted by name, optionally.
- Undo function is usable again, optionally.
The gsmunhide utility is for converting (unhide) the ArchiCAD 8.0 - 13.0 objects with hidden scripts ('.gsm') to an editable version. The purpose of making this stuff was to simply fix the bugs in the hidden scripts. Please use this program for only legal things, and take the objects' copyrights etc. into consideration, while using it.

New plugin and update Importer
Submitted by dinnye on 2010, April 17 - 19:04Hi,
I’m back again. The project is almost one year old, and during this period, the plugins were improved significantly. The knowledge of these plugins greatly exceed the functions of the original one, and I also tried to eliminate the imperfections. If you have any idea on what functions to put in the plugin, don’t hesitate e-mailing me. I hope my plugin helps a lot of people who want to use Cinema 4D for rendering. If you find any errors, please let me know.
A new version is ready. The main changes are as follows:
- When updated, the poligons are not deleted by the import plugin. So the poligon tag changes are kept.
- I’ve compile plugin for version R11.5 (small speed improvement).
- The ’Editor camera’ is not modified during updates.
- The polygon optimalization is separated to ’basic’ and ’user’ mode. Gets slightly better results, mainly in version R10.5.
Another plugin is also finished, you can find it in the Download menu. The plugin can overwrite or switch off the Texture Tags. I know there are similar plugins for C4D, but all those I’m familiar with, can use this switch function for the whole project only. So I’ve made two separate Tag plugins. These tags modify only the hierarchy under them. They can come in handy for lighting or urban modeling.

New Year -> New Version
Submitted by dinnye on 2010, January 20 - 22:58I’ve finished a new version of the plugin, the main goal was to improve speed. The notable changes are as follows:
On the ArchiCAD side (export pugin) version 1.7:
- Saving is faster
- Saving AC4D+ format in binary -> the output file size is reduced in most cases
- ’ArchiCAD layer’ name export is fixed
On Cinema 4D side (import plugin) version 1.4:
- the full code is rewritten for improving memory usage and speed
- less memory required
- a way lot bigger files can be imported (tested with a 500 MB file on a laptop with 2 GB RAM)
- Binary file import method added (8-9 times faster)
- significant speed improvement in the option 'Split polygons by ArchiCAD layers' (slightly slower compared to importing without layers option)
- ESC button can be used to cancel importing process
- Undo funcion is removed (lots of memory usage)
- Improvement of the dialog: ’Update folder’ (if Tag name = file name, then ’Update’ mode is automatically selected)
- If materials not needed are not created
- Transform Shader is removed from the pugin (was unnecessary)
I’ve worked a lot to make these imrpovements. IMHO the new options are worth trying. You can find them on the download page. If You find any errors, please e-mail me to fix it.
Regards
